Location
Limerick is on the west coast and is the third largest city in Ireland. It is situated on the River Shannon - Ireland’s longest river, and only 20 minutes from Shannon International Airport. Limerick has been a centre of trade for over 1,000 years and is now a busy economic and cultural centre. The Shannon Region is a particularly beautiful part of Ireland with a dramatic Atlantic coastline offering tremendous diversity in its scenery and activities.
About the College
The University of Limerick is located in a spectacular park bordering the River Shannon and only 10 minutes from the city centre. Students stay in attractive village style accommodation in individual houses with single rooms. All meals are served in the main university restaurant, which is close to the classroom facilities.
Accommodation
The accommodation is in houses on campus. Each house has 4, 6 or 8 tastefully furnished single rooms with wash hand basins. Showers and toilets are adjacent to the rooms. Each house also has a kitchen/living room, which is fully equipped with cooker, fridge freezer and television.
Sport & Recreational Facilities
Facilities include: indoor heated swimming pool and diving pool, squash and tennis courts, gymnasium, athletics track, extensive playing fields and tennis courts.
