At ATC we offer one of the most comprehensive ranges of junior residential programmes in Ireland, which take place in 10 locations throughout the country. In each of these locations we ensure that we are the sole provider of English language programmes for junior students.

 

Junior Summer Courses

Students from 10 to 17 years of age can study English in our junior programmes in Ireland. Participants can choose a 2, 3 or 4 week course. Classes are held for 15 hours per week, with a maximum of 15 students in each class. All teachers are highly experienced, well trained and expertly qualified. The timetable is organised to allow each student to gain the maximum benefit from their course. In addition to the classes, a full range of sports, recreational and cultural activities is provided.

 

ATC Residential

  • Full board accommodation
  • 15 hours tuition per week
  • Organised sports, recreational activities and evening activity programme
  • 1 half day and 1 full day excursion per week
  • Residential accommodation in secondary schools, colleges and university campuses
  • Single and multi-bedded rooms
  • Located in Dublin and throughout Ireland
 

Host Family Programme

  • Full board accommodation with a host family (packed lunch Monday-Saturday)
  • 15 hours of tuition per week
  • Organised afternoon sport, recreational activities and evening activity programme
  • 1 half day (entrance fee only) and 1 full day excursion each week.
  • Carefully selected Irish families that usually accommodate 2 or 3 students of different nationalities

Course Information

  • Weekly assessment and progress report by teachers
  • Maximum number of 15 students per class
  • Placement test to select ideal class level
  • Learning materials provided
  • Oral and written homework set and corrected each day
  • Preparation in class for historical and cultural visits
  • Weekly assessment by teacher
  • Graded certificate awarded upon completion of course
  • Preparation for Trinity College London ESOL and TIE exams
  • Examinations on request
  • Each morning the academic programme is divided into 4 periods
 

Low Season Programme

This is a short course programme for school groups, in which a group studies for 1 or 2 weeks in Dublin. The programme includes morning classes of language tuition for 15 hours per week, and afternoon excursions to places of cultural interest. The syllabus emphasises culture and conversation through project work and language work which focus on oral and aural skills. Students who take the 2 week programme may also take an exam option.
